To apply for RRB NTPC you need: Undergraduate posts: Class 12 pass (50% for some typist and clerk posts, relaxed for reserved categories). Graduate posts: bachelor's degree. The age limit is 18–33 years, calculated as on 1 January of the notification year.

Post-wise age limits can differ. The official notification for each cycle is final.
Other conditions
- Nationality: Citizen of India, or other categories as specified in the notification.
- Undergraduate-level posts: 18–30 years. Graduate-level posts: 18–33 years.
